The 1957 CamAir is Yogi's total restoration of a 1957 Cameo pickup, including side trim from a '57 Chevy Passenger car and the cargo doorskin from a '57 Chevy Nomad wagon. Started in 2002, it is now on display in the Yogi's showroom in Monticello, Iowa after winning many car and truck show trophies.
The CamAir sports a big block 454 engine and a 700R-4 transmission. Power flows through a Ford 9-inch rear end to a set of Bridgestone tires on Billet Specialties Bonneville wheels.
The CamAir was featured in the April 2010 issue of Classic Trucks Magazine. The article details the meticulous restoration and modification of the original 1957 truck. Here are some of the restoration details, and project contributors:
