Flaming River has introduced steering columns for the popular 1940 Ford, plus other street rods desiring the period “retro” look.
The column is based upon the classic stainless steel Flaming River roadster column. The upper end shaft uses a splined shaft, and is designed for use with aftermarket reproduction ‘40 Ford-style wheels.
The laser-crafted column uses all-new components including wiring harness, featuring either a 1-1/2” or 1-3/4” stainless steel tube below the CNC-machined cast stainless steel bell to further enhance the retro feel of the wheel/column combination. The column uses a modern, self-canceling turn signal stalk and a hazard-warning switch. The columns are available with a hazard delete option. The columns are available in either polished or mill finish (paintable) versions, and use a 3/4”-36 splined output shaft.
