Street Tunnel Ram intake manifold is designed for 302-327-350-400 c.i.d. small-block Chevy V8's operating below 7500 rpm where low-end torque is not a prime factor. Will not fit 1987 and later cast iron heads. Use with cam kit #5002 for low-end torque or cam kit #7102 for top-end power. INSTALLATION NOTES: bull; Top has vacuum outlet for power brakes bull; Manifold will accept forward and sideways mounted carbs bull; Distance from carb center to carb center: 8.875" bull; Carb recommendations: Edelbrock Performer Series # 1404 500 cfm or Edelbrock AVS2 Series # 1902 500 cfm, for forward mount only. Holley # 0-9776 450 cfm for sideways mounted only. bull; H.E.I. ignition will not clear manifold bull; Recommended intake gasket: Edelbrock # 7201 bull; Manifold height (top with bottom): A-9.00", B-9.60"; Carb pad height: 9.30" bull; Port exit dimensions: 1.12" x 2.12" bull; Use RTV sealant to properly seal end seals, such as Edelbrock High Temp Silicone sealant # 1076, DO NOT USE END SEALS GASKETS. bull; Hardened washers Must be used with intake bolts to ensure proper torque and prevent galling of the aluminum. bull; Sealant must be used on intake bolt threads if the threads extend into lifter valley or coolant passage. bull; NPT/Pipe thread fittings require the use of Teflon tape or paste on threads to ensure proper seal. bull; DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN NPT/Pipe fittings, this may cause the aluminum to crack around the fitting boss. NPT/Pipe thread is a tapered thread. bull; Carburetor size (CFM) should be selected based on your specific engine combination.
